2009 Round-up - Grandma Gibbs is on a Mission

I've decided to finally do a little catch-up with this blog. It is mainly for the benefit of Grandparents and my own Journaling. So feel free to skip the old stuff. I will try to do some newer stuff in between the old.
Grandma Gibbs came to visit us one last time shortly before she left on her mission to the Texas Houston South Mission in March of 2009. We had a great time as usual. Much of our time was spent helping Grandma buy clothes and things she needed for her mission. But, we did find time to do a few things too. We took her to the Zoo in Omaha and had a fabulous time.

A couple weeks later we took a trip to Utah to see Mark's family and it happened to coincide with Grandma entering the MTC. We had a get together at Uncle Ray's house one night with cousins and Uncle's.

We were able to take Grandma into the MTC on March 2nd. It was quite a different experience from when we went into the MTC. We helped her take her bags to her room and then had a 5 minute good-bye in the front Lobby and she was off.

The kids and I did get to go to lunch with her and her companion one afternoon. It was exciting to see her again and to meet her companion.
